If I have friended you and you have no idea who I am, it means I've found your public entries (probably through places like metafandom, or through random reading of the friends' friends feed) interesting. If this bothers you, please PM me and I will remove you.
I talk about any number of things here in any number of combinations. I am a bit of a social media/social networking affectionado, and the topics intersect my personal and work life in a number of ways I find endlessly interesting. I have recently discovered that I have always been a feminist, am bit by bit coming to understand my own privilege where I have it, and sometimes I have real opinions about things that matter. Politics occasionally fascinate me; the way copyright is changing in the age of the internet always does. I recount the little nothings of my own life just because, and I regularly squee for any number of fandom and non-fandom related reasons. Sometimes I post for no better reason than things make more sense when you force them into the shapes of words and sentences and paragraphs.
Hijack: When your flist is bored and uses any post as an excuse to verbally flail about anything and everything. Generally unrelated to the topic of the actual post. Prone to breaking LJ layouts. May contain an excess of animated gifs and macros.
This journal is 99.9% public, so if I don't friend you back you shouldn't feel as though you're missing something. Permission is not required to friend or link.
I cross post some of this content to my personal website afterthree.net as it is relevant to the four major category topics I have there, and also to Dreamwidth under the same username, but I currently consider Livejournal my primary home. (I am somewhat inconsistent when it comes to Dreamwidth... it's all about where I am when I post and if I can use Semagic, so if you only follow me there you probably will miss things.) I happily accept comments in either space.
Paper Worlds is my online working notebook for all projects writing-related, and also doubles as my personal fic journal for those who prefer to read and be notified of fic updates via Livejournal. I'm updating it with all my current/old stuff slowly, and with the new stuff as it comes out. All the fic is public and available to anyone -- the only stuff that's been made private are my plethora of notes, lists, timelines, and backstories that make up my own personal canon, which you probably don't care that much about.
I am a frequent user of Twitter and it's as good a place as any to contact me if you need to. I also have a Tumblr blog, which I use to share mostly quotes and pictures I think are nifty.
